In this second session, we turn to a bigger question: how could AI shape the services you provide to beneficiaries?

Many charity services are sensitive, complex and built on trust. While AI can increase reach and responsiveness, it also brings real risks: misinformation, embedded bias, and decisions made without context.

So how do we use AI well?

In this session, we’ll explore where AI could genuinely strengthen services and where it shouldn’t replace human judgement. We’ll look at practical examples, the balance between automation and empathy, and what a sensible first experiment actually looks like.

We’ll also focus on how to move forward responsibly: bringing colleagues and boards with you, maintaining human oversight in high-stakes situations, and protecting the trust at the heart of your services while embracing what technology can genuinely improve.
