Good Innovation is a leading UK Strategy and Innovation Consultancy for the social impact sector, working only with organisations that do good. Our mission is to impact the lives of billions of people, it’s what gets us out of bed in the morning and fuels our team-driven environment for entrepreneurial minds.
We work with Fundraising and Services Directors in the charity sector, as well as purpose-led corporates, who believe that growth can only be achieved by doing things differently to close the gap between where they are now and the mission they exist to deliver.
We are a diverse team of big thinkers, experienced entrepreneurs, and social innovators, and we are proud to be using our skills for something good.
The Role
Not many jobs let you shape how an organisation operates from the inside out. This one does.
The Senior Operations Lead sits at the heart of Good Innovation, a strategic, hands-on role that keeps the business running smoothly, its people thriving, and our impact visible. Reporting directly to a Partner, you’ll work closely with the leadership team across all areas of the business. You’ll be the person who notices what’s not working, has the drive to fix it, and the judgement to know when to escalate.
This role is purposefully broad, spanning consultancy operations, people and culture, systems ownership, and client quality. All unified by one goal: make Good Innovation an efficient, profitable, people-first organisation that creates the impact it exists to deliver
Key Responsibilities
1. Consultancy Operations
You’ll define and lead the operational backbone of the business, ensuring clarity, efficiency, and excellence in how we work.
Own and evolve our Operations Strategy & Roadmap: aligned with Good Innovation’s organisational vision, identifying pinch points, driving continuous improvement, and planning for how we grow and change.
Lead all aspects of project resourcing: including delivery model design, team allocation, freelancer engagement, and utilisation tracking. Explore and implement tools that improve how we resource and work.
Take ownership of our CRM: Ensuring accurate project build out, tracking and reporting, holding the team accountable for data quality, producing reliable weekly KPIs, and continuously evolving the system.
Quickly pick up a deep understanding of Airtable: Taking ownership of the CRM’s back end and continually improving Airtable in-line with the needs of the organisation.
Manage our freelancer database: Sourcing, negotiating, contracting, and building strong ongoing relationships with our extended network.
Take responsibility for Legal & Compliance: Managing contracts, procurement processes, and data compliance across the business.
Support and lead finance processes: Acting as the point of contact for project-level finance queries.
Work with our AI Lead to explore and integrate AI tools into our operations: identifying practical applications that save the team time, improve our systems, and keep Good Innovation at the leading edge of how we work.
2. Reporting & Client Quality
You’ll own the data and insight layer that keeps leadership and the team informed and accountable.
Own project and portfolio reporting: With key data and implications feeding into a comprehensive ‘Projects Update’ at each Company Quarterly.
Define and maintain our reporting dashboard: Working with leadership to align on the most useful metrics, likely including utilisation, project profitability, and unrecognised revenue.
Own and deploy client quality surveys: Sent to all live clients, with 100% completion targets, and a clear summary of conversations leadership need to have as a result.
Track and celebrate our impact: Proactively identifying ways to measure and showcase our individual and collective contribution as an organisation.
3. People & Culture
You’ll support and enhance our people experience, from talent attraction to team culture.
Lead on team wellbeing, development, and the working environment: Owning a clear training programme and bringing in internal and external experts to drive delivery.
Be the go-to for our shared office space: Managing the relationship with WorkLife and ensuring a productive, positive environment in the office.
Lead internal communications and team events: Logistics for away days, team gatherings, and shared experiences that create regular, on-brand moments for the team to connect.
Support People Leads with HR engagement: Including tools like OfficeVibe, and managing the operational delivery of our professional development process: feedback cycles, forms, and communications.
Own recruitment end-to-end: Managing our talent proposition, owning the recruitment pipeline and processes, and shaping people strategy and team structure with the Partners.
Deliver best-in-class onboarding: For new recruits and freelancers alike, working closely with leadership to continuously improve the process.
Who We Are Looking For
You’re a pro-active doer. You spot what’s broken, take ownership, and fix it. Highly organised and naturally detail-oriented, you also understand the bigger picture and can communicate it clearly to the people around you.
You will have:
Experience in an operations, project management, or people-facing role, ideally in a professional services, consulting, or agency environment.
High levels of organisation and strong attention to detail, with proficiency in Excel and/or Google Sheets.
Comfort managing multiple workstreams simultaneously, prioritising ruthlessly when you need to.
Strong communication skills, clear in writing, confident in meetings, and effective at holding people accountable without friction.
A genuine interest in systems and processes, and the drive to continuously improve them.
A people-first approach, always showing you care about the team, not just the task.
The ability to get out of the operational weeds and look at the business through a strategic lens, identifying improvements and changes that can be made to drive profitability and impact
The Package
Salary range: £40,000-£60,000 (depending on experience, pro rata).
